Gr 9 course outline

COURSE OUTLINE

Welcome to Qui Arrive Ce Soir?

Supplies*
Please bring a pencil, an eraser to each class.

Course content
In this course, you already have experience in how you may learn through a hands-on, active-
learning approach that uses gestures, plays and other activities. Hopefully, you feel you have already learned a great deal. You will continue to expand your vocabulary and there will be even more opportunities for you to develop your French language skills. By the end of this kit, you will be expected to read, write, speak and understand French using the past, present and future tenses.

Classroom rules
Here is the most important one: Speak only in French! It is important to support your own learning and the learning of others by respecting this rule.  English is not to be used in the classroom.

Assessment
Students will be assessed through observations, products and conversations.  They will be evaluated through a balanced literacy approach.  We will focus on speaking approximately 50%, reading 25% and writing 25% of the year.

Homework
We will have written homework from time to time, if we do, I expect you to finish it on the date due.  If there is no written homework you can review (study) the play or review words from your DVD.

You should be spending a minimum of 5 minutes on French every day. Parents, there is always something your daughter/son can be working on.

Good luck and work hard!

Sincerely,
Shannon Steinhoff

Gr 9 French

Students are currently writing the story in their own words.  They must stay away from google translate.
They will be given time to write and edit during class.  My hope is that there is little to no homework.

Gr 8 French

He is a sheet with the opposites we are working on.  You will need to know the opposite and how to spell it when we have our quiz.
